Late game heroics give Albany State 72-70 wi over Spring Hill

Shakur Poteat hit a shot with .03 seconds remaining to give the Golden Rams their first conference win of the season as they defeated the Spring Hill College Badgers (72-70) in overtime at the ASU West Campus Arena.
 
With the win, the Golden Rams men improved to (3-1) overall and (1-0) in the SIAC.  The Spring Hill Badgers men fell to (3-3) overall and (0-1) in the conference.
 
At the half, the Golden Rams trailed (34-31).  But, the Golden Rams outscored the Badgers (32-29) in the 2nd half.  After a back-and-forth overtime, the Golden Rams pulled out the victory with Poteat’s putback in the waning seconds in overtime to secure the victory.
 
Shakur Poteat led the Golden Rams with 25 points and 10 rebounds.  Terin Wofford finished with 14 points and 4 rebounds. Reilly also added 13 rebounds.
 
Walter Peggs, Jr. led the Badgers with 29 points and 6 rebounds.  Timothy Reilly and Steven Lyles both finished with 10 points each for the Badgers.
 
The Golden Rams will host Tuskegee University at the ASU West Campus Arena on Monday, November 27.
